Song #2!
Ok, so we just posted song #2 in our quest to record 52 songs in 52 weeks! Maybe someday I'll post some more comics here (hahaha), but for now follow the link to hear the song. It has an electronic beat and many layers of vocals.

We primarily used a Nintendo DS for the beat, a piano and our circuit-bent casio sk-1 to fill out the rest of the song. The Sk-1 creates the "demented geese honking" sounds in the intro, siren-ish/slide guitar-like sounds during the bridge and ambient crackles at the very end of the track...in case you're wondering, heh heh.

As soon as I recognized the, I guess synthesized, sound it reminded me of the music in an epic cutscene. Final Fantasyish, really great stuff. Would love to see the lyrics for this one too.

I meant to reply to you sooner, but I got swept away in more recording/work/the comic, haha, everything. Sorry about that!

Epic Cutscene would be a great (8-bit?) band name! Or Epic Cutescene would also be good. I almost wish we didn't have already have a name! We have a circuit modified atari that we hope to record with soon, so there will be more of this video-game inspired stuff, possibly even on the next song, although anything can change on a dime.

Anyway, here are the lyrics to Vanishing Point:

standing between a thought
and an unforgivable action
did you find your ultimate distraction?

watching the figures
and plotting out their positions
did you find your
vanishing point?

chorus (X2)
how can you disappear
when ever step closer
makes you more real?

you told me your plan
to read the horizon
abseil the nearest mountain
to nothingness

what I've got to
ask you now
is have you
found your goal
your vanishing
vanishing point?

chorus (X2)

you'll run, but perspective drags you back
it draws you back
it draws you
into corners you can't stand
confined by their design
darken my doorway
with a cheshire smile
even the cat himself cannot match

chorus (X2)

...and writing this out I realize that there are only two small portions (the bridge and one of the verses) that don't end in a question...haha. Weird.

Glad you're still enjoying the music!
